I received a complimentary copy of When A Woman Trusts God by Sheila Walsh to review from Thomas
Nelson Publishers several years ago.
Finally got around to reading it this week.
Walsh states, “The greatest challenge to trust is when he
allows us – or even more so, those we love – to suffer.” In this book Walsh tells her personal
experience with depression and how she learned to let go and trust God. In this book Walsh provides hope through the Biblical
stories of David, Tabitha, Paul Moses, Gideon, Joseph, and Abraham.
As a counselor I am always looking for good books to
recommend to my clients. This book will
go to the top of my list. It is full of inspirational
quotes and scripture verses that remind us that God can be trusted, even when
we don’t understand the whys of our situation.
I often tell my clients that God is more interested in our
progress than our perfection. Walsh
states, “If the whole point of the journey is to learn to become more like
Jesus, which is to trust God 100 percent, then the places we have been or where
we are headed seem to fade into insignificance.”
If you are a woman who has difficulty trusting God this
would be a great book to use as a Bible Study. The discussion questions in the
back of the book are helpful in working through each chapter, and would be
great for use in a women’s group.
