I have been thinking a lot about my goals in life. My husband and I are in transition in our lives. He retired September 1st; we are getting ready to sell our house and move; I closed one of my offices; and we are planning to change churches. I guess this could be a time in my life that I sit back and think about retiring myself, but at the age of 53 (did I say that out loud?) I still have a lot I want to do...
So, I thought I would start a list of things that I want to accomplish. So here goes!
- Become a life coach
- Send birthday and anniversary cards to family and friends every year
- Learn to be frugal in most things and extravagant in the important things
- Spend quality time with my mom
- Find someone to mentor in counseling
- Publish a book
- Create a blog that is widely read
- Use the things I already have instead of saving them
- Maintain my weight
- Eat healthy
- Have friends to my house at least once a month
- Go out to lunch with one person every week
- Listen to music every day
- Complete continuing education in something that really interests me every year
- Teach a women’s Bible Study group
- Develop a group of colleagues to brainstorm business ideas
- Find a trusted group of friends to give me yearly 360° feedback
- Improve business skills
- Keep an accurate Christmas list and mail Christmas cards every year
- Read through the Bible every year
- Get in the habit of exercising 30 minutes a day
- Create an oasis in my home for studying/meditation/prayer
- Organize photos
- Watch less TV
- Read at least one book a month
- Pursue photography
- Get regular physicals
- Lower BMI from 24 to 21
- Celebrate my Golden wedding anniversary
- Work at home
- Take inventory once a year to make sure I am staying true to myself
- Give gratitude
- Increase my follow through on new ideas
- Teach at a university
- Update my family tree
- Simplify my life
- Introduce others to Jesus
- Stop procrastinating
- Live in intentional community with good friends
- Learn to make good pie crusts

Diana,
I have no doubt that you will accomplish these goals. I know you are already accomplishing at least one of them...being a life coach. While you may not have the official certification yet, you are a life coach to me.
