Oh I need a lot of these books. I'm gonna have to go back and bookmark them. :-) I love the 1-2-3 Magic!
One of my favorites from your list is How to Talk So Your Kids Will Listen. It has saved me as a teacher and a parent.
PS - If you were to have a list of 14 books I would also recommend the Love and Logic series. Good stuff.
I'm sure they would be helpful books to parents!

I don't have any kids, but many of these books would come in handy as a teacher, too. I will admit that I have read a few parenting tips and triks to see if I could get through to some kids. It is sad that I would have to do that (since I am definately NOT their parents), but it is the way things are sometimes.

I can't believe that people need books to teach them how to raise their children. My grandmother died yesterday at the age of 91, and i'm sure that 91 years ago there was no such book to be found for her mom to raise her, and I don't think that there were many if any around 16 years later when she had her first child of 8. She was raise wonderfully, and she raise her 8 children wonderfully.
Everyone should just slow down. Then you would have more time to take with your children, and raise them correctly, with out the need of a book.
You can't tell a book by its cover, so I can't venture an opinion except to say most of those titles look as though they would be of interest to parents of young children, though Dare To Discipline cold be a bit alarming, if it is anything like the beat-you-kids-for-Jesus books that are apparently available nowadays.

I agree some books are like that...but those authors confuse discipline and punishment. Even when the Bible says not to "spare the rod" it gets misinterpreted. Most of the time that a shepherd used their rods it was to guide the sheep...not hit them. Discipline is guiding, punishment is different.
